Alternatives to using arcadeVGA?
« on: November 02, 2004, 11:30:25 pm »
What are ways of outputing a PC to your 15 khz arcade monitor other than using an Arcade VGA card?  I would like to use an nvidia chipset that is more recent and do want the quality that brings, and will be using my cabinet for more than emulation.

You could use AdvanceMAME with a JPAC...thats about all I can think of if you want to use newer cards.

I should have specified more that I want to be able to see windows without a problem.  Quality is not the issue with windows and the desktop, but actually being able to see it is, as well as other games and stuff.

Than powerstrip may work for you...still should use a JPAC for the added protection for your monitor. I personally have never tried powerstrip, so hopfully someone who knows more can help out better :)

Just wondering how much "quality" are you expecting at are you expecting at 640x288 on a non-vga monitor.
