Arcade monitor wont turn on
« on: October 31, 2004, 07:23:46 pm »
Hey guys, Ive got a Wells Gardner Model #:25k7197 monitor in a soul calibur machine which im trying to get working. When I turn the machine on the monitor does not.  I did notice that multiple capasitors were blown on the pcb board so I replaced them all using a cap kit. But even after that still the monitor would not turn on. The monitor is getting power but the heater coil does not seem to light up or go active. Anyone know of any more ways to trouble shoot or find out whats wrong? Thanks!

Use the troubleshooting flowchart for the K7000 at www.randyfromm.com under his 'Super Secret Technical page'.

You probably need a flyback, horizontal output transistor, or capacitor C36.

I know this is obvious, but did you check the fuse? If it's blown you may have a shorted HOT or retrace cap (or both), both are common failures on the k7000 monitors. Could also be a bad voltage regulator.
