Tempest video settings for a tv
« on: October 31, 2004, 06:32:19 pm »
I just noticed that my Tempest game is REALLY dark in Mame.  What settings are suggested for vector games that are played on a tv set ???

I figured it out...I just increased the brightness in a vector.ini...

but then I noticed that the game ran slow and the sound stuttered...So I fooled around with throttle and at 100%, it had to skip 7 frames....

is this normal?

It seemed to play ok after that...

Unless you have a seriously ghetto PC (below P3 600, certainly) then Tempest should run full speed. Maybe there's some other factor screwing up the emulation? (Background tasks? Hardware stretch? etc.)
