Please help with Mame analog+
« on: October 29, 2004, 12:02:36 am »
I'm trying to figure out how to get Mame analog to work with version 87.

I guess that this version still does not have a mame32 (windows) build, correct?

The current version that supports windows is 83 from what I understand.

Is this (or any other ) version capable of seeing 4 mice devices?

I'm building a 4 player game cabinet with 4 spinners.

Thanks in advance!

And what 4 spinners games will you be playing?

Warlords?
Eliminator?

Anything else?

Yeah, I know it sounds ridiculous. The idea of this cabinet is to be completely over the top.

I'm planning on using the spinners for some of the 4 player driving games as well.

Like Sprint etc.

I was originally going to use a modified spinner that was mapped off the keyboard. The folks at Hagstrom did the mod for me.

However, it didn't work well as there was a lag. They actually warned me that this could happen.

So I decided to bag the idea and try out Mame analog for the 4 player spinner hookup and use a usb hub.

If Mame analog can't handle it, I'll probably just use two spinners instead, and either e-bay the other two or keep them for spares, or the like.

I know that 2 player spinners are much more prevalent. 23 games or so.

I know that even warlords had only 2 spinners in the actual cabinet (If I remember correctly) but you can actually set it up for 4 -but then again that was off the keyboard. So you can see what I'm dealing with.

What do you think?

Thanks for the input!
