Looking for guestbook script(s)
« on: October 26, 2004, 04:50:20 am »
My needs:
  • Threaded
  • Email notification of new replies to admin
  • Must be able to edit and/or delete entries via web-based interface of some kind.
  • No login/passwords for normal users (it's a guestbook, not a forum) :)
Any suggestions?

These are a ---smurfette---. You need to know perl. for some good info on it, goto www.webmonkey.com. I was gonna have a mailing list option on my site, but what are ya gonna go?

you will also probably need the server to have database capabilities. if ur running a unix server, theres a good chance.

go and Google this (make sure to use the " marks too

Code: [Select]
"Script""guestbook"
That should at least get you started on some.  I never had a site where I had a guestbook, only a message/chat board.  I always preferred that to a guestbook, but that's just me.

Usually Googling "script" "whatever I was looking for" would turn up at LEAST 2-3 pages of useful links.

Bravenet also had a lot of scripts to use, but I can't remember if they were specific to their site.

Thanks guys.
I've found one that'll do what I want after hacking the php and template files a bit:
