MTC9000 - where does this plug go?
« on: October 24, 2004, 11:06:04 am »
see attached picture of chassis of Hantarex MTC9000 (its a monitor i just bought for 10 quid on ebay).

the green plug that you can see is attached to 4 wires that go to the yoke. it was plugged into the green socket at the bottom left of the photo.

but i a bit confused about this  :-\ i had assumed that socket was for the input video signal. is that correct?

so i am now wondering if the plug should actually be connected to one of the two green sockets in the centre of the board?

can anyone advise?

is the chassis complete or something missing?

if the plug was actually connected correctly - then where are the inputs for this board?

i have a remote adjusment board that connects via cable to the white pin connector.

thanks for you help on this!

It looks to me like the yoke connector goes into either one of those two connectors in the middle of the board next to that big blue filter capacitor. The reason there are two connectors for the yoke next to that capacitor there is that one of the connectors will flip (or mirror image) your picture for those game cabinets that you view the monitor from a mirror. The other connector will give you a normal picture.

The connector at the edge of the board (over by the remote connector) would be the video/sync input. I think you can download the manual for this monitor from www.mikesarcade.com

cheers ken - just what i thought

i will try and download the manual

any idea what that type of connector are called?

i will need to get a 4 and 6 pin as they are missing. a 6 pin for the video input and a 4 pin for the power connection.

I don't know the actual name of the connectors that Hantarex uses, but I think they are called out in the parts list section of the manual. Hantarex are located in the UK.

thats good - i'm in the UK as well  ;D

incidently i was wondering what the other white pin connect (at end of the "Plug" arrow) was...i looked in the downloaded manual and seems that it is for a "pincushion adjustment" board - which i do not have. does it matter that it is missing? i think seller had the monitor working ok with out it. he didn't advise he ever had one.

The Pincushion Adjust board is an accessory only used on 25 inch and 27 inch tubes. It is not used on 19 inch tubes.
