4 Player Cab Project! (Pics) - *new marquee*
« on: October 24, 2004, 09:59:30 am »
Hey guys! On I am with my Cab project. Snapped some pictures of my progress. At the moment, I am messing around with the CP, but both of the Cab sides have gotten laminate and T-molding. I have also cut off about 3'' where the CP is shown resting on the Cab sides to lower the CP. Any comments and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

PS: I am stuck on the color layout of the buttons on the CP! I have red and black, and a few white. What do you think I should do?

Thanks again, Fred.

Luv the red and black theme, but there is not enough red.  I would try red joystick handles.  That would help set it off I think.
Please!  Give me the good news first!

MAN! Red T-molding would friggin OWN!! I am pissed now... How easy is it to yank off after it's been glued? I was giving the red handles some thought, maybe 2 red and 2 black would do, but that is something that I can change anytime. I have been busy today, check it out.

Because my e-mail account where the password was to the Hiub account got deleted, and I didn't want to bother anyone getting the password back since I had never changed it from what  it was at first. That's all.

Thanks for the complements!

Looking good.  What size TV are you using and what type of bezel are you using?  As it cleans it up quite nicely.

I am using a 27'' TV. As for the bezel, I made it out of 1/2''x1/4'' pine molding. I basically made a frame to cover the edges of the TV, then I laminated it. On the inside edge, I covered it with electrical tape. Then I made and laminated 2 sections running across the front of the cab for the plexi to press onto, while the frame was behind it and behind the frame goes the TV. I will take some pictures when I get home, for now here is a quick sketch.

Cool a close up pick of the bezel would be nice!  As I used a 27 inch TV too but have no bezel around it.

I will take a picture of the bezel as soon as I get home. Last night I got the Happ Vinyl that I ordered. It came packed like CRAP! There is a crease running along the middle of the vinyl, and when I applied it, the crease would not flatten out. I need to call them and figure this out, since it looks OK from a distance but when you get up close to it you can really tell its nasty. It was also cut very unevenly. I did get my corner protectors, and they look mighty nice. Like I said before, Pics when I get home to show the progress.

Thanks guys, Fred.

I still haven't uploaded the new pics, but here is the marquee I just made.

I have it available in .ai file if anyone wants it. Tell me what you think of it! It is 26''x7.5'' all vector.

Any reccomendations on the best place to get it printed at?

Thanks guys, Fred.

P.S.: Red T-Molding is HERE! YEAH.

Thanks for the kind words! I went ahead and uploaded it to the library, so anybody that wants to download it can get it from there. I will put the pics up tomorrow with the new RED t-molding! I think this is all tying together nicely!

I also went ahead and placed an order with Scott, he seems like a great person and answered all of my e-mails very quickly. I have only heard good things of the printing, so hopefully this will be the case. Just a quick question: What material are the marquees printed on? Do they need to be sandwitched between 2 pieces of plexi?

Thanks again guys, Fred.

P.S.: Thanks to the mods for renaming the title!

Here is a quick round of updates! 99% done! I just need to get a light fixture for the marquee and attach it permanently. If you will notice, I also had to update it a little bit. Also, the door under the CP fell off the other day so I need to reattach it. Other than that it is done! There are also some pictures of the bezel that I made for GGKoul.

Thanks for all the help guys!
