catver file and Mamewah
« on: October 22, 2004, 09:42:49 pm »
I figured out how to sort by category and have 4-5 custom lists...driving games, fighting games, trivia games.....

But I have a classics list that I want to update by "adding game to list"

I want to use the main game list and just add the classics...But when I add a game manually to the classics folder, no games go there?

Is it a one or the other deal with the catver file?  Either you add manually all the games you want to specific folders OR you have to use the catver file? ???

how do you sort by category? the only custom list option I could find was called "filtered" which reduce my game list from 4000+ to 2300 or so, looks like it mostly removed clones.
I couldn't figure out how to do games by category.
But again it was after 3:00am, so I'll have to give it another try tonight...

Bug...if you happen to have any old .FTR files from an earlier version of MW, then place those in your \files folder and it should work.  Otherwise the filters are broken atm :(

so as of right now theres no way to sort by category in 1.52?

I tried just slapping the 50 or so FTR files from my older mamewah97 into my mamewah 1.52, but still when u go to "generate filtered list...." theres no options and it only filters out the clones (yes I refreshed main list first)  I know the catver is being read cuz I have a spot for Catver Category in my layout and it shows up

Well that should work...but otherwise, no, there is no way to filter 'til I fix it  :(

Edit: just thought, did you rename the FTR files?  If they're from v0.97 you'll need to change them from emux-*.ftr to emuname-*.ftr.  Also, you don't need all 50 per emu, only how ever many lists you have.

yup works for me too. I now have my "no adult/no majong/no clones" main list of games.
Thansks for the workaround.
