Atomic Marquee
« on: October 22, 2004, 10:03:43 am »
Hello folks, after about a year of being away from this forum I am back :) And after looking at some recent examples of some cabs I got bit again. This would be my 3rd attempt, I tend to make it to where it is just playable  and get "stuck" there. Wish me luck this time :)

While looking for different ideas for  a cp and marquee atwork I happen to stumble across the Atomic Marquee available here

http://www.mamemarquees.com/marquees.html

I think this would be perfect for my cab. Is this marquee artwork available in vector form? I think the backround in the image would make a nice clean cp overlay. I notice in the description it says "Mame Marquees Exclusive" so dont know if the artwork is readily(sp?) available.

Well my long winded question is this, More than likely I would order the marquee and ask for one with out the mame logo for my cp. Is there anyway to get the image for me to test print one at home just to make sure it looks OK?

Any help in this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there. I made that design for mamemarquees to offer exclusively but they would probably let me modify it for you. (Just did for someone else). Especially if you use them to print.

To answer your question it is 100% vector and completely modifiable  :)

As far as providing it for printout I'd have to ask mamemarquees. Maybe I could send you a watermarked version to test. Be warned that it is RGB native so most printers will have a VERY tough time reproducing it. Most of the blues will be out of the CMYK colorspace so it will more than likely go muddy or purple unless printed professionally on a wide color gamut printer.

Glad you like it. Errr... just to confirm this is the one you mean, right?

Unless I hear otherwise, it if turns up on my site, I'll make sure it goes away.

I appreciate that, and I'm sure Mamemarquees will too. :)

Yeah thats it, I love you work :) I like how clean and simple this marquee looks.
I think the blue backround (minus the MAME logo) would make  great cp art for my mini cab Im building. Is there anyway I can get just the backround artwork or something similar so it matches the marquee when I order it? :)
My cp dimensions are only 18"x6" and was hoping I could do this on my inkjet since it wont be backlit.

Thanx for your assistance thus far,

Scott from Mamemarquees.com here, feel free to work with Pixel.

If you decide to have me print it, since it is such a small CP I can do it for the normal price of a marquee.  Like pixel said it will be difficult to get the colors right with a normal inkjet.

I also have some major updates to my site rolling out over the next few days including a CP using the Atomic background and discount codes for byoac members.
