Vantage type scanlines ????
« on: October 21, 2004, 04:41:11 pm »
I recently played around with vantage, both on an arcade monitor and on a regular pc with svga monitor... I was quite impressed with the scanline effect that vantage can produce...I ran Mspacman on an svga monitor, rotated and with the scanlines the result was quite close to the arcade monitor...What i was wondering is, i've never really been able to get a nice scanline effect with mame.  There's like 25 choices for effects, 75%scanlines, 25%, etc.. but none look anything like the nice simple effect that vantage produces.  Am i missing something? Is it possible to get a similar result with mame??

I use mameplus on one of my cabs that has an svga monitor, just so i can use the scale2x or supereagle effects to smooth out the edges without the blurring that the regular mame default filter uses. I much rather have the nice scanlines.

thanks guys
