WG D9100: Fuzzy on right
« on: October 20, 2004, 11:47:42 am »
I have a Wells-Gardner D9100 SVGA monitor in my cab.  When I first got my monitor, it was delivered to my office, and the picture was razor sharp.  I boxed it back up and took it home, but once In installed it in my cabinet, I noticed that while the left side is still sharp, the right side is fuzzy, as if pixels are straddling a scan line.  Is it possible that I've bumped one of the adjusting rings on the back of the tube?  Should I even try to correct this, or am I asking for trouble?

Oh, and while I'm here, another question about dealing with this open-frame monitor: For safety, do I need to discharge the monitor if I'm just taking it out of the cabinet for an hour or two, or do I only need to do that if I start poking the monitor with a screwdriver?

Thanks!

Only discharge a monitor if you need to work (e.g. solder) on the main circuit board itself.  Discharging to move is NEVER needed and only a risk toyourself and possible damage to the monitor by not discharging correctly.

Remember: You never crack open your computer monitor or living room TV set to discharge it whenever you just want to move it. Same thing applies to open frame monitors.
