Mamewah Help Needed
« on: October 11, 2004, 10:49:06 pm »
I am in the final steps of getting my computer ready to put in my MAME cabinet.  I am running into a few problems I am not sure how to fix.  Sorry if these questions seem easy to some, but everyone had to learn these at sometime.

Here is what I am planning to run in my cabinet
Mamewah frontend (latest version)
MAME v .83
Z26 for atari 2600
ZSNES for super nintendo
FCEU for Nintendo
Some Sort of Arcade Jukebox that I have not decided on yet

I have managed to get Mame and Znes working somewhat

How can I get rid of the screen where you have to type ok in mame?

When I try to run a game in Z26 I just get a fine not found error

When I try to run a game in Fceu I get an error opening message

Anyone have any pointers on how to configure mamewah to work right with these emulators?

Is there a good place that will tell me more about filtering the game lists?  How do I generate custom lists for mame?

How do I filter the NES and SNES game lists to just show US games?  right now it shows all the various versions .

I have read and searched the message boards, but have came up with more confusion than I started with

I really appreciate any and all help you can give me

I am sure I have many more final questions, but this will keep me busy for the moment

If you're running MAME command-line, use the -skip_disclaimer and -skip_gameinfo switches to remove the OK screens.  You could do the same by setting skip_disclaimer and skip_gameinfo to 1 in mame.ini, tho I dunno if that would affect MAMEWAH.  Sorry, I'm still n00b-ish.

As for FCE Ultra and Z26, first try downloading the versions in ScreenShot archive:

http://www.screenshotarchive.com/downloads_emus.htm

They're more cab-friendly bcuz they exit with ESC.  Make sure the inis in MAMEWAH point to the ROMs directory in your system and you should be okay.

As far as filters, I'm clueless.  Wish I could help there.
---Remember Adventure for Atari?  The graphics suck, the gameplay is horrid, it has no replay value, and it TOTALLY OWNED ME FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I OWNED MY VCS!!!!---

www.screenshotarchive.com has a great video on this...

You can't - there is no clone relationship info like we are spoiled with for MAME.  You would have to physically remove your non-US roms.
