They look really nice.  I would suggest trying to find some official artwork for the color characters though.  I know it's going to be pixelated, but it seems a lot worse on the color characters than the all blue and red.  Just my opinion.  ;)

Thanks for the comments.  I had thought about that but all the official art I've found is the same stuff everybody else has used.  I wanted something a little different.  The high res versions look much less pixelated than what you see in these.  I scaled them down in a crappy program we have here at work.  I also added a little inner shadow to them that tones down the jaggyness on the edges a bit.

Thanks a lot.

I switched the top two Akuma images upon recommendation from Icicle.  I'm also in the process of adding all the button labels.  I wouldn't have them if these were strictly arcade controls but since they work on the ps2, the cube and PC I feel they're necessary.  I should have an update after this weekend.

Alright...Update...

I decided the background just wasn't working so I changed that out.  Here's some rough button labels and I'm still undecided about the pattern in the other parts.  In the new pic I've changed the bottom right corner to be squares instead of abstract shapes.  I added the scanlines to that part but I don't like it so disregard that.  Let me know what you think please! :D

Looks cool man.  The only suggestions I have are that you better triple check your sprites don't get blurred when you blow this thing up to 300dpi, blurred sprites that are the focal point of a piece can make the whole thing look trashy unfortunately.  Just a suggestion on your background, you thought about maybe some character art back there, I personally think the 3rd strike Akuma pose would be perfect for the akuma one, the ryu one I'm not entirely sure of.

btw, out of curiosity what gamecube games are you planning to play on this thing anyways?  I don't know of a whole ot of games I"d want on my cabinet from my gamecube right now, although I'm sure there are going ot be some really good releases out in the future.

You can use scanlines on those sprites.Should look allright if you HAVE TO use sprites(I would personally use higher resolution pictures).

I appreciate and understand the concern about the sprites.  I started working at 300 ppi from the get go.  I actually blew the sprites up about 1600% before I brought them into this file too.  I've also printed test prints and the sprites look pretty hot.  I absolutely would not use them if they didn't look good. ;)

On the Gamecube thing, I'm not so sure I'm going to have a cube in my cab but my control panels are wired for PS2 and Cube.  They will be removable from my cabinet so I can take them over to my friends house and kick his arse in Soul Calibur II.  I may put a cube in though to play Ikaruga and SC2.  But I think it's gonna be easier to just have a PS2 in there.

Also SNAAKE, I keep gong back and forth on using scan lines on the sprites.  I really can't decide yet. :-\  I would use higher resolution pics too but all of the official street fighter art I've found is the same old stuff.  It's like they release 2 pics of each character and that's all the public gets.  I wanted the characters in the poses I wanted not just what capcom wants me to have. :D
