rotate display when list changes in MameWah?
« on: October 03, 2004, 12:26:16 pm »
I am trying to setup mamewah to support vertical and horizontal menu systems for my cocktail cab.

Apparantly in MameWah you can set up games lists to have different layouts. Therefore i was thinking on having 2 lists - one for all horizontal games and one for all vertical games. The lists would have associated either a vertical or horizontal oriented layout.

But how to set up so when change lists that the display will rotate 90 degs if the vertical list is chosen?

The ArcadeVGA supports hardware rotation and can be setup to have hotkeys to allow user to switch display orientation.

Is it possible to make Mamewah send the appropriate hotkey combo to rotate the display when the list changes?

Just make your 'vertical' layout with the resolution dimensions reversed - eg 480x640 is 640x480 vertically.

Yes, it rotates the display.

Well I think specifying the resolution that way causes hardware rotation.  I think  ::)

oh...i thought you meant that mamewah actually supported display rotation in the software/display renderer.

Fraid not, you just need h/w or s/w rotation available.
