k7000 P538 w/ vert. foldover
« on: September 30, 2004, 11:29:00 am »
Hey guys n gals,

We have a WG K7000 that has a vertical foldover issue at the BOTTOM of the screen. We've already recapped the entire board, verified all resistors in circuit are well within tolerances and also changed the vert. output (never suspected this, but we had one so we did it anyway). All to no avail.  :-\
If anyone has any input on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Have you adjusted the 50/60 Hz trimpot? That's what it does is adjust foldover.

If that doesn't help then replace the tantalum cap C51 (.68 uf @ 35 volt, value is CRITICAL) directly behind the 50/60 pot. If that still doesn't help then IC1 (UPC1397) should be changed.

Thanks Ken, the trim pot was it. You just saved some grey hairs. :)

We ran into this problem a couple years ago but couldn't for the life of us remember the fix.
