Mamewah&I-Pac Programing
« on: September 29, 2004, 09:31:22 am »
I just set up Mamewah to switch the i-pac prg on the fly, that works great...Thx Minwah.  My only problem is now, all the keyboard led's (which are start button lights on my cabinet) start flashing and won't stop, everytime the programming changes on the i-pac.
Is this a I-pac issue? or can i set something I set in mamewah to stop it?

thx
sac

Do the LED's keep flashing even after programming has finished?

Older IPAC revisions actually *use* the signals to the keyboard LED's to program, so if the flashing stops after programming then this is correct.

Thanks for the quick reply Minwah

Nope, they stay on steady after the programing has finished, only way to turn them off is hit the 'lock' keys on a keyboard

this I-pac is about 2 years old, hooked up thru ps2 connector.

thanks

Have you tried programming it just from WinIPAC (not thru MAMEWAH)?  Does it do the same?

Ahhh just checked.. .
Ok, no, when i program with just the i-pac, it flashes all 3 lights, then they all go off when it's done...

When I start up mamewah (all lights off) and go to the emu that i need to reprogram for, I select a game, it flashes all the lights while it reprograms.  Durring the game the Cap Lock light stays on.  When I exit the game back to mamewah, it flashes all 3 while it programs back to default, then all 3 lights stay lit.

OK, so do they continue flashing as you said initially?  Or just stay lit?  If they just stay lit, then don't worry about it.

They just stay lit.

It's more of an oddity than a problem... it's alittle distracting to have p1 and p2 start buttons glowing bright red while i'm playing a game, lol.

Maybe there's a work around that i can send the keypresses (cap lock, etc)

Someone else recently asked if I could add a feature to turn off / on the keyboard LED's...I'll try to do it in a future version :)

Oh, Minwah, just a littel follow up.  I noticd while i was trying to figure out a work around for this problem, that it's programing the i-pac thru any command line  (on the fly) that seems to do this.. the only time it dosn't leave the leds lit is when you reprogram with the winipac gui.

So it's definatly an i-pac issue, not Mamewah.  I messaged Andy to see if there was a solution.

thanks
