I've seen some questions regarding the candidates positions on issues and was hoping that we could compile some information to help those undecided make an informed decision. I'm really hoping to keep this as neutral as possible so people can become informed and make their own decision. I don't want to see any discussion or bickering about the issues, only quality "balanced" reference material.
If you're not sure what that means, then don't post in this thread.
A local TV station has a one page list here:
http://www.kare11.com/elections/positions.asp
This site is against the "Patriot Act" but has the full text available for reading. Skip their info and just read it for yourself:

Cooter, I'm sorry to be the first one to break your rules, but your premise is flawed from the start.
Firstly, you link to a tv station's list that is FILLED with rhetoric. I'll give you examples on both sides.
George W. Bush
Record deficits in a time of war, terrorism and tax cuts. Budget in surplus when Bush took office; deficit projected to reach a record $422 billion in budget year ending Sept. 30
John Kerry
Cut deficit by half, at least, in first term,
Those two sentences are explained away by "hasn't yet explained how". WHY PUT THEM IN THERE THEN?
John Kerry
Roll back Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans; keep parts of the package for middle- and low-income people
George W. Bush
Withdrew from Kyoto global warming treaty
for both of these points, no explanation as to what these two points mean and why they would/were done.
John Kerry
Opposes gay marriage but also opposes constitutional amendment against it
How would this POSSIBLY help an undecided voter?
Health Care
George W. Bush
Number of Americans without health insurance
Under health
CARE, they point out stats on health INSURANCE. These are two separate and distinct issues. Again, how would this POSSIBLY help an undecided voter (that is, someone who IS NOT up on, or digging into, the issues?)
Secondly, in posting a link to the ACLU, you casually dismiss the rest of their site by saying "skip the info"?!?!? If you REALLY are interested in getting THAT info out, there are sources on the internet where you WOULDN'T HAVE TO "SKIP THE INFO"!!! They post the thing so you can read it. Period.
Try this on for size, man-http://news.findlaw.com/cnn/docs/terrorism/hr3162.pdf
And for Rudy's sake, man, the only two links you can find are from an
NBC television station, and
THE ACLU?!?!? Man, I'm not claiming you are for one party or another, but for the love of Pete, those are two of the MOST BIASED sources you could POSSIBLY find.
You SERIOUSLY want unbiased even-handed information? Try
www.factcheck.org At least there, they pick apart BOTH sides of the flawed arguments, and point out lies from BOTH sides.
Jeez man, thanks for the help, but put a LITTLE more research into the effort. People with polarizing opinions here will start to think you're either with them, or against them. Thus far, I have to wonder how you can walk, seeing you lean to the left like that.
