Hmmm. I just did a clean install on my wife's PC and it worked great. If you want you can email me on sdchown@yahoo.com and I'll help you figure it out.

Fantastic!  I'll try to get some time tonight to put this on my cab and check it out.  Since my romset is a legacy set I've been waiting for this.  =)

I'm getting a weird graphical glitch.  It looks like the "highlight" bar in the game selection window doesn't follow the selected game. The box will disappear at the top of the game list, then will appear in the middle and will grow to 3-5 lines, depending on resolution, then will grow to half the screen at the end of the list.

The name "MAMEListBulder" should be "MAMEListBuilder". :)

Mouse handling is not correct when the FE is in the background (ALT-TAB).

There should be a way to disable mouse input if desired, for consoles without trackballs and people who run the FE on their PCs.

The phantom game list entries with Daphne are still there.
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

Please read the wiki!

I am also unable to build a proper list.  I get an invalid input error.  For the record, I'm using noname MAME 76.  And windows 98se.  (As a side note, it's not closing the dos boxes automatically for me, and your listbuilder program apparently waits until those are closed before moving to the next step. That threw me a bit at first)   I'll try it with MAME v76 here soon.  I have MAME and fceu setup on my machine.  How would I go about generating a game list for fceu?  (NES emu)

I also get an infinite loop of access faults when the program quits.  First this happened when exiting the main app, the exit was caused by not running the config utility.  Then it happened twice more when I tried to start the main application and the list info had not been generated.  I'll post more info here when I know more.

Ah bollocks. I've intruduced a bug with the selection bar when I did my vertical mode stuff.

This version is pretty much useless. I'll have a bug fix out Monday.

Ok, just tried to use it for the first time and Mame list builder can't generate. I get this error "Cannot open file C:\Arcade Epic\Work.xml" on both Mame and Mame32 .86. I can't see this file anywhere myself, should I be able to? I'm using WinXP Pro.

Also, it's spelt as "MameListBulder".

And there's a file called Arcade on my C drive now that I don't remember being there previously.

Hope this helps to know.

I think you've just discovered a "Can't have spaces in your arcadepic folders name bug"

Try renaming it Arcadepic with no space. Will endevour to fix this bug in the meantime though.

I see you have names on the phantom Daphne menu entry now. That's good, so I can tell which roms to eliminate.

The only thing I can see wrong right now is that the application's focus doesn't change correctly if ALT-TABbing. When running MAME by itself, you can ALT-TAB with no problem, (the sound keeps running, but that may be a feature).

Being able to ALT-TAB smoothly is good because you can consult documentation or edit game parameters, etc. while running the FE. Maybe the fe can minimize itself before launching a game and unminimize after the game ends.

I also got some Oh My God! exceptions when doing random ALT-Tabbing.

Hello. Busy with this alt-tabbing issue as we speak. Already I've found a few small problem causing code-snippetts.

Look for a release real soon.

Thanks for nagging. ;)

Yes, renaming the folder "ArcadeEpic" did the trick. Great start on a FE too!

I really dig the icon support, so much so that I may have to make this my cabinet's FE when it's more mature. More FE's should do this, putting the icons in doesn't make it resemble windows to me, just makes each game look cool with it's own little logo. Been waiting to re-use Mamu's icons since my Mame32 days.

Like how the list can be made to loop and how pressing up at the top of a list takes you to the bottom etc... all the things you've added are intuitive and simple, I like that.

I got a few weird exceptions in the juke box but i'd never use that anyway, overall for me it's a case of the FE so far is cool but what else can it do?

As a devoted MameWah man I need it to do basically the same things and your added extras. I would hope that it could show rom names without the extra info (MameWah uses Rom name vs Listinfo or something I think), that it could have event sounds for start up, shut down game launch etc etc.

Also how does the slideshow work? Can it randomly display all the snap with names on screen like MameWah? I only had one snap image for testing sorry. Also, thought the snap appeared a little blurry but it looks like the new snap i'm using. Got them from Crashtest and apparently the format is a little different since I set up MameWah in my cab.

Sorry if the questions are answered somewhere in the download but I just set it up really quickly/basically to give some feedback only. Looking forward to more.
