... but I must say do not follow his measurments at all. He didn't put in angles eithert so its next to impossible to build.

Your cab looks great!  Can't wait to see it complete. Can you tell me what measurements or angles were troublesome so that I can fix up the docs?

Can I post your pictures and story on my site when you get it done?

I think it wasn't exactly the measurments persay that where wrong. I think it was the fact that the majority of the measurments where not there. Angles and a little bit of an update on your walkthrough would have done wonders. I did however extend your 14 inch width to 16 inchs to better fit my monitor. Also I took your Diagram and blew it up to 24x48 to get the best layout. I will do my best to get you measurments and complete my website the second I get a chance. That way you are more then welcome to utilize my story as best you can. However, I still have to beautify it a little more and do some touch up, Build Her bike, and build a lawn bean bag toss game by friday ;). So I will be a tad busy for the next few days. But I will do my best to finish my website soon. Thanks for the complements :).

I just got out of the hospital ;)

Basically, She opened all of her gifts and then it was the moment of unveiling. I unveiled the Baby cade and My daughters Jaw dropped. However the insueing earthquake from the other kids attendings jaws dropping. Gave me a bit of a worry so I turned it all on and my daughter was the first to play Pacman after about 30 secs of bedazzling my daughter I noticed the screen start shaking to the point of unvisablility. I turned to see about 25 kids in full gallop heading towards the arcade. I quickly lifted my Daughter up and threw her to my dads awaiting grasp. I then was thurally trampled by minature shoes of all shapes and sizes. So in other words it went off with out a hitch ;). I am beaten and bruised and my daughter is playing it at the moment :). I am definatly if not walking Flying ;)

Thank you, all of you, for your help and kind words towards getting my project completed. I couldn't have been rendered imobile with out ya.

P.S. Pics coming once I get them transfered to my Comp ;)

Hey guys long time no chit chat. Welp it went great and I will post one picture below until I get some more. I must apologize my Ma is the slowest at sending pictures ;). But here is one of me and my daughter messing with the system. This isn't the birthday girl but my two year old will do until I get one where my daughter was playing.

PLease excuse the Marquee I did it in about 5 mins I was rushing to get to the party. Also used wrong screws so it cracked :(. Basically I took tape and did her name on the front and used super high gloss spray paint on the front over the tape. Then I used super rough sand paper and scored the back to make it opaque. Removed tape and voila ;).

i really like the rope lighting as the t-molding for the cab.  i was planning on doing the same thing for my cabinet.  exactly how much trouble did you have with it?

I can honestly tell you I will never use it again unless I can find a easier way to get it to stay on. Here is how I did it.

First I routed the sides to have a concave(?) edge. Then I used Hotglue to make it stick. (Mistake number one) The hot glue releases from the heat of the rope light and it fell off the third time my daughter played it.  So I decided hey lets use Clear Caulk like you use in showers that holds upto heat and should hold nicely. Well after about 2 hours of scrapping hot glue from the crevices I started my caulking. Well it would have worked if you could sit there and waiot for it to dry but the rope light is just to heavy for calk to properly set just right. So I used Elmers Super bond hoping it would work. (Mistake number 2) It worked like a charm in making the rope light stay after taping it to make it stay while the glue cured. However it expands like you wouldn't believe. So I now had runs ofd this foamy rock hard crap all down the side of my cade along with mounds of the stuff around the rope light. So with a painters knife I easly got the runs off teh side art with out damage. And then used an execto knife to clean up the rest of the mounds. I used a Crayola paint brush and did a little touch up over the lighter color glue since it doesn't dry clear. It turned out pretty nice but I would maybe try a different direction next time if I want to use this stuff again.

1. Cut it to Size before mounting from the front end and not plug side. (takeing apart everything just to send a signal to match wires is a pain.)

2. Find some super nice THIN Tacks and just use extreme caution and just nail the dang thing to the aracde machine :).

3. Buy less heat inducing rope light ( it will be nice in winter but in the summer it just adds that much more heat to a tiny box.)

I turned to see about 25 kids in full gallop heading towards the arcade.

...and that's the beauty of industrial-quality arcade parts and solid construction. ;)

Regarding attaching the rope lighting, what about clear two-component epoxy? (that stuff that comes in double plastic tubes that mixes as you squeeze it out with the plunger).  It makes a heckuva bond, but it doesn't foam and expand like the Elmers Super Bond.

Thta would have been my first choice but My wife and her father are allergic to epoxy. And instead of using my kids as test subjects to see if they where as well I decided to go a different route. But I really do think that would have been my best choice, that and maybe scoring the Rope light so the glue could actually have a little better grip.

Soul if you could jot down a few dimensions, that'd be very helpful. Those seem to be hard to find on these minicabs. Basically, the overall height and width would be great.

Cheers.

Hey Tricky,

With my wife being pregnant again and my three girls running me ragged I haven't had a bunch of time to create my website for yeah. So if you would like you are more then welcome to gather together my story here of the forums. As well as grab pictures of what ever ya need from my website listed below. I hate to make you wait any longer then you already have so if you would like to go about it this way, it is fine with me. And then once I get off my lazy butt I will get you the completed website with new measurments and diagrams for ya.  Take care!
