« on: September 20, 2004, 10:13:18 pm »
My cpo was printed at kinkos w/ laminated vinyal. It will be attached to a part metal and part wood cp. What adheasive should I use?

In my case, I used a combination of archival spray adhesive and staples from a staple gun. I heated the CPO up a little bit, to give it some flexibility and suppleness, then I stapled one end to the wood CP, sprayed adhesive onto it, and wrapped it quickly around the CPO, rubbing out air bubbles as I went.

I used 3M spray adhesive. You can get it a Home Depot/Lowes in the paint section...VERY sticky!

I went to Kinkos here in Lexington KY.
The kid behind the counter acted like I was crazy when I asked about printing on vinyl

It wasnt self adhesive and I had it laminated since I wont be add a glass overlay. And would I spray the adheasive on the CP or the overlay?(does this even matter)

Dunno if you already did, but you might need to use primer on the wood to keep the adhesive from being soaked up by the wood.

hmmm didnt do that...:) that a definite must?
moisture + wood = bad

I'm not really sure, but I read someone else state so and it seemed logical. It will depend on the adhesive as well.

Oh sorry, didn't know you were still unsure. Thing is probably just about any spray adhesive will work. Just check the label to see if it works on both wood and metal. People mentioned several options they used earlier so they should work.

I personally use 3M spray adhesives and the ones I have all work on both porous and non-porous materials.

It's just that I saw someone state that he felt the adhesive used by (IIRC) ClassicArcadeGrafix wasn't so strong because he didn't use a primer on his wood CP. I have myself also had some problems with a print not sticking to wood (forgot which brand  of adhesive that was though).

Sorry to make this look like a bigger issue than it really is.
