Game Launcher and AdvanceMenu both work well in vertical mode.  Game Launcher is the easier of the two to configure, but is less customizable.

Use Ultrastyle.

Looks great and it's a piece of cake.

No frills and great support from Chris.

It will, if you make a vertical layout ;)

That said I don't recommend it, at least until you've tried the FE's with built-in rotation.

It's a little choppy on the 700 mhz machine I tried it on.  Plus you have to install that whole Windows thing.  It's not so choppy once it gets going, but when it starts and when it comes back from a game it just sits there for a few seconds before it shows the name of the game under the screenshot.

Try lowering the resolution.

On my vertical I run it at 640x480 and it works great. But then I have a 1.25ghz.

I can't go much lower than 640x480...

vertiwah is not that difficult to get to run, you should give that another try.  You do need to either get or create a skin.

I know nothing about comand line. or dos
Mamewah was EZ . I was able to cut and past in the ini file with note pad. very simple.
I tried this with vertiwah and got no change.   ???

I just bumped into this. On this PC, ( my mane PC,  just built it a few months ago.) My video card will flip the screen also. I do not have mame or mamewah on this pc. would my video card flip mamewah. or will it be like Pivot Pro and only window is fliped  ???

I am using onboard vide on my vertical cab , ( no agp slot ) if a pci slot  ati video card will flip mamewah and give me more options on skins  I think I could sping for a new video card.

Your hardware rotation will effectively do the same as PivotPro, but hardware rotation is MUCH preferred!  So you should be able to use your video card's rotation and a vertical MW layout.

ok. I can deal with that.
I do like the classic vertical skin , just not the mame logo. I tell ever one about mame and always help set them up. I am just not into having mame's logo on the cab. I prefer it to be hidden
Thanks for the help
 ;)

I don't have the MAME logo on my cab either.  Just make your own layout using the Layout Designer - job done :)

when it comes back from a game it just sits there for a few seconds before it shows the name of the game under the screenshot.

This is actually by design, it waits for the intro music to finish, and during that time it doesn't write to the screen. I didn't realize anyone saw this as being an issue. I could easily change this around, if your not getting to your games fast enough.. I'll have a look at it.

Chris

Update: I have removed the delay from the start of the fe. I have also added a few other things. Look for a new release by the end of the weekend.
