Mamewah and EPSXE
« on: September 13, 2004, 01:57:00 pm »
I have had some issues with the new version of Mamewah while running ESPXE on it. Here is what I have found.

After running the first game and exiting back to the main menu, a toolbar - sized line the same color as the desktop appears at the bottom of the screen.

This is the odd one-- Mamewah will constantly reload the last ROM played over and over and over with no way to get out of it other than ctrl-alt-delete. I exit the game, and Mamewah will simply reload the ROM in EPSXE. Strange stuff. It is not a hardware issue as far as I can tell.

I have not tried replicating any of this with any other emulator... just EPSXE. Not too sure if anyone else has played around with EPSXE and MAamewah 1.5 or not, but I thought maybe someone can confirm my findings.

Thanks

APf

Not sure about this, but it sounds like MAMEWAH is losing focus after quitting ePSXe for some reason.  How are you launching it?  Last time I heard it had to be run from a batch file I think...

Yeah, I am using a .bat file similar to the one found on the Mamewah setup site.  However, I didn't even think that it could be losing focus. I'll run some more tests and see what I can find.

Just make sure you use the 'start /wait' part...

I've added code to try and stop MW losing focus...but I did notice that some apps just don't like to let go!  I'd set it up and have a go but I don't have any PSX games...
