Here's my marquee- suggestions?
« on: September 11, 2004, 04:20:24 pm »
I've been working on it for a while, and for the most part I'm satisfied, but I'm open to any suggestions.

First off, a few problems: Will the huge white laser jet stream thing be too distracting with a light behind it? I was thinking about just layering some extra paper in that certain area if it turns out it's too bright.  Seems like it'll work, but I'm a mere llama, what do I know?  Also, when I started playing around with photoshop I had the image's resolution set at the standard 72.  Should I do something about it?  Is there any way to convert it without redoing the image?  It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to redo, so that's ok if I have to.

I'm currently working on a space-themed cp overlay to match. . . hopefully I'll have that posted soon.  ;D

Edit: Woohoo, it worked!

Use purple, and switch to a blacklight.
Or make a gradiant from white to purple.

If you look at mine, on Oscar's page Dan B. fighting marquee you will see I used purple and with a black light it looks great.  Give an almost 3D feel to it.

Maybe make the rainbow colors in the word "ARCADE" transition gradually? That would create a slightly different look, but maybe not what you're going for...

Thanks for the replies.  I don't think purple would really work with the color scheme because I'm going for the whole red-blue-green-yellow thing.  It's a 4-player cab and there'll be one color for each player.

I'll try the fade effect and put it up here. . .
