My Gauntlet I and II no longer work :(
« on: September 10, 2004, 10:54:45 am »
I know some changes were made over the past few MAME releases, and obviously my roms need to be updated in some way.

I ran clrmamepro and it says my roms are fine though.  And I know my Tombstoner is not going to just send me those two roms.  He is a great guy, don't get me wrong, but the last thing he probably has time for is to burn two roms onto a cd and mail them to me.

Also I don't want to downgrade my MAME version.

Stubborn aren't I?  :)

Once I finish the cocktail machine I am building now, I will put an old MAME on it, and Gauntlet should work fine on that machine, but it would be nice to get it working on my big cab too.

Anybody know if there is a way to "fix" my roms, or another alternative?

Thanks guys.

I can't test them in the latest... but here are a few things to try

1) delete all generated files.  .nv files and such.  look for gaunt* /s in the mame directory and delete all but the roms

2) did you build your own?  You might have to do it again... but this time make sure you make clean and remove any extra diffs.

3) goto mametesters and post the bug.
