Free News Services
« on: September 07, 2004, 09:11:23 pm »
My ISP has decided to drop the news server.  Said there was too many hassles with it, and up and stopped the service.

I talked to another local ISP and he dropped his too.  I'm not wanting to get onto aol or some big ISP.  I like to call mine and ask a question personally.

So I went looking for a news server so I could get RGVAC.  I hooked up on google first, but the posts are hours old by the time I get them and they don't refresh for hours.

Then I found one called "readnewsfree.net" and it worked for about a week.  Now I can't connect.

Is there a stable free news server where you can get your posts and upload??  Most let you download, but hardly any let you post.

Any suggestions?

Look into Giganews.  It's not free but it is very good and quite cheap.

Every free news server I have ever tried has really stunk.  I imagine it takes a lot of effort and can't be offered for free without losing money.
