Hey, new here. I was curious as to what the BYOAC community's favorite fighter game is. Street Fighter Alpha 3? Marvel vs. Capcom? List whatever you would like.

King of fighters.

World Heroes 2 (not that great, but I had a LOT of fun playing it when I was a kid... nostalgia)
Raspberry Pi, AttractMode, and Skeletor enthusiast.

I'm absolutely no use at any of the SNK fighters, but I like Garou and The Last Blade/2.  Capcom-wise I like pretty much all the SF/Marvel games (again not much good at them :( ).

If you're including scrolling fighters, how about Final Fight, Alien vs Predator, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Sengoku 3...

My all time favorites are Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom vs SNK 2.  Although, I think I may be in for a new favorite when I get my hands on the new Street Fighter Anniversary Collection.

I'm a Street Fighter II guy, myself. We used to play the hell out of that at the baseball card shop. What is this "Anniversary Collection" you speak of? I haven't heard of that yet, but the thought kind of excites me.

Samurai Shodown 2

My buddy and I play the hell out of that game whenever we can steal a few minutes.

Personally I'm a street fighter fan myself.  SFA3, Marvel Super heroes vs. Street fighter, Street fighter 2 X:  The Grandmaster Challenge.

Oh and the SF Anny collection is a Playstation 2 game with a new Variation of Super Street fighter 2  called Hyper Street fighter 2 and it comes with Street fighter 3 Third strike.  I can't wait to get this.  It  came out this week but I'm moving so I haven't had time to pick it up.

Here ya go..... http://www.popcultureshock.com/news.php?id=720

That article is incorrect.  Unfortunately it does not include all 5 SF2 games just the Hyper and SF3.  I wish it had all the others. :-\

The SF series is the best for moments just like this. I just wish you could record all your best moments.

The article is correct.  You must have read it wrong because it says nothing of having all 5 SF games.  It says Hyper SF II blends aspects from those games.  The new anniversary collection has SF III 3rd Strike and Hyper SF II on it only.  I can see the title of the article is kind of confusing though, but if you read the actual article it explains what they meant.

My Bad.  I just read the headline and knew it wasn't correct.  Kinda misleading there.

I am a big fan of most capcom games, but lately I have been playing a lot of guilty gear xx(ps2).

In MAME, my favorites are street fighter 2, marvel vs capcom and samurai showdown 2

I picked this up the first day it was out and its awesome. I , however, am reminded of just how long its been since I've played any SF-type game on a gamepad and I really need some pracitice....

(I guess my answer to the qestion is pretty obvious. I first started building a cab so I couls play SFII and others on "real" arcade controlls)

I was a big fan of Time Killers.  There was nothing like it when challenging a friend, taking your favorite character (Rancid in my case) and getting an instant win by chopping off your opponents head in the beginning for not being quick on the defense.  Of course, this ended up into many real life brawls when I wouldn't give them money back.  ;)

Daraku Tenshi - The Fallen Angels is pretty impressive, graphically at least.  Seems like a pretty good game too :)

I haven't commented about it but lately it's becoming a problem as there are about 6 - 10 threads like this one currently in the software forum.

The software forum is mainly for software related announcments and questions about software.

"What is your favorite game" threads probably belong in the everything else forum.

Hope I'm not raining on anyone's parade, I'm just giving a friendly reminder. :)
