Favorite Trashy 80's movie?
« on: September 01, 2004, 07:54:33 pm »
Mine's Better off Dead. I love my dark romantic comedies ;D. And druggie humor too, ;).

Others that came close are:
The Breakfast Club
Say Anything

Now for your turns!

The Lost Boys.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Trashy movies?  Nothing more trashy than the AIP classic "The Beach Girls".  Dope and naked chicks (including the hot Playmate from the ZZ Top videos).

Mmm mmm!  Good stuff.

"Two dollars !!.......I want my two dollars!!"

"Wierd Science" is my fav.

edit- I know the two dollars bit is from Better Off Dead and not Wierd Science as I was just posting a memorable phrase from Floyd10's favorite movie.

"Two dollars!" is from 'Better Off Dead', if I remember correctly.  Great quote though.

'Valley Girl' is one of my trashy favs from the eighties.

This isn't "trashy", but my favorite is "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavors last night.  I guess it's pretty serious."

The Lost Boys.

I went to the pier where the carnival was in Lost Boys in the mid '90s, there was no comic book store, but there was an arcade.  ;D

Also, that railroad bridge is there, it's about 5 feet off the ground.  We hung from it and had to bend our knees. LOL

Flash Gordon!

It's got the lowest grade special effects of the decade and the dialogue is hilarious! Also, the Queen soundtrack is awesome! I watch it from time to time when its on TV and it really bugs my girlfriend!

Ok, first, many of the one's already listed I will gladly watch :)

To add, I am more into comedies
Top Secret!
Hot Shots 1 and Part Duex
Airplane 1 and 2
Army of Darkness
Stripes
Anything Mel Brooks (though Blazing Saddles is 70s)
The Wizard
Crazy People
The Gods Must Be Crazy
Labernyth
Brewster's Millions
A Million to Juan
Ghostbusters
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Dazed and Confused
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (well, anything with John Candy in it)
The Police Academies
The Naked Gun
Tim Conway's Dorf series

Not sure if some of those are 70s or 90s.  Go look at www.imdb.com to make sure :)
And I am sure there are many more movies from that time I love.

Flash Gordon

But what about:
Beastmaster?
Masters of the Universe?
The Conan the Barbarian movies?
Red Sonja?

I think a lot of the movies previously aren't what I would call "trashy"

Rad and Breakin

RAD was an awesome movie. We all wanted to go out and do a backflip after watching it. They need to put it on DVD for real. Not the ones on Ebay with like 6 different covers but all "unopened".

I also liked:
Can't buy me love    (one of my favorites...Seth Green as a young boy...too funny)
Breakfast Club
Weird Science          (did you get a free toaster with this?!?)

I am having brain blockage. Maybe more later.

Some of the movies added more recently arent exactly trashy (think porkys).

Mad max... I can't call that trashy.. an actual just movie made in the eighties with their technology? Yes. I dont mean bad in our standards. I mean, just made for the purpose of being something that no "mature" adult would fully enjoy. in other words, just really immature.
