eBay Problems?
« on: August 29, 2004, 04:49:28 am »
Has anyone else gotten any weird notifications from eBay lately?

I JUST got an email (sent Aug 29, at 1:07AM) that was a "did not win" notification for an auction that ended JUNE 18th.

It was for one of the Tron/Satan's Hollow/Gorf "cocktail" sticks, with the trigger fire button on them.
There are two current auctions by the same seller, for similar items, but they have not ended yet, and I have not bid on either of those.

The "did not win" notification did NOT include either of those auctions, but did have a bunch of other stuff ending in the next few days.
That leads me to wonder how accurate their "similar items found" software is.
It didn't find the two items that were EXACTLY like it, but thought a Kosmik Kroozer FLYER, and a Tapper COASTER, were "close enough".

I was just curious if anyone else has had anything weird like this from them lately.

A friend of mine has had some very severe problems with ebay this week. He sent me an email that he got a TKO notice from ebay.

Apparently somebody hijacked his ID and tried to change his email address.  It was sent about 3:00 am (probably PDT) from ebay.

If you have having messages like that, contact the fraud department ASAP.  You may have somebody snooping around your ID.

This man told me that he was apparently bidding on a Motorcycle and some car parts too.

They locked him out of his account.

I wouldn't delay, do it now and check your Paypal.

Speaking of eBay, only recently did I finally get an account merge that I requested nearly 6 months ago:

"I apologize for the extended delay. We have now completed your merge
request and your addresses have been combined."

I forgot all about the requested merge until today. Guess it was worth the extra 1 Positive "A+++ Excellent Buyer" feedback from 3 years ago :)

I changed my password immediately, contacted ebay immediately after that, and THEN started to research it a bit.

I thought it was a fraudulent bid at first, because of the other two auctions that are currently going, and reported it as such.
