Mamewah questions / sugestions
« on: August 24, 2004, 12:40:53 pm »
HI,

This one's more for minwah ...

I'm sinking of using the cab with mamewah as a jukebox also. I understand Mamewah plays mp3 from a list so it must have some kind of player inside. Here are the questions:

1st - Is there a way by any change of using it as if we were on a emulator, i.e. choose the emulator (player) and then list all the available mp3 for songle play?

2nd - If the above option is not available could it be possible to have some sort of shortcut keys for "NEXT" "PREVIOUS" within the emulators?

Thanks,

Note: Found a great CDA -> WAV -> MP3 converter ... free ...

1) You could set up a media player 'emulator'.  Basically the ROM Path becomes the path of your MP3's, Emulator Executable is a commandline media player etc...of course there are restrictions you could do without.  Some of the guys have played around with this *much* more than me - try searching here for 'mp3 mamewah' etc (hint: I think the subject came up within the last week).

2) I have added next track / previous track shortcuts (actually next track already exists).  BTW I have also added rewind & fast-forward shortcuts.

Ultimately tho, I have always maintained that MAMEWAH is not a jukebox - some of the arcade jukeboxes out there do a splendid job from what I gather, so IMO you are best off using one of those (launch from a separate 'PC Games/Apps' 'emulator').

The more I know it ... the more I think that this is a great fe ... great work man ...
I know there are perhaps better jukebox softwares around but for what I will use it ... it's just what I need ...

Thanks,

Regards,
