neo geo problem in MAME
« on: August 24, 2004, 10:46:20 am »
I am interested to know if anyone else has had this problem.

I have tried the last few mame releases  and it happens with all of them.  The problem is that neo geo games will black out for a second then come back on again, it seems to happen randomly every minute or two, the game is still running, but the screen goes black.

I've only encountered this while playing neo geo games, for example, metal slug 1.

I am guessing it could have something to do with the new version of the arcadeVGA video card (the one with the radeon 9200).  I've downloaded the updated drivers for this card, which solved the triple-buffering problem, but i still have this problem.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem with this or any other video cards.  I've emailed andy (sells the arcadeVGA) about this also.

heres my setup:

arcadevga (newer radeon 9200 version)
WG  d9200 monitor
windows 2000

i've been running mame32.

thanks for any help.

i don't think win32 mame is the problem, i think it is a driver issue.  i'm surprised no one else has had this problem.
