Is the wg d9200 worth the trouble?
« on: August 23, 2004, 06:55:27 pm »
I was thinking about buying a 27" wells gardner d9200 but I have heard reports of it failing and such.  Is it worth it to go with this monitor or do you think I should try to find an altrenative multisync monitor?  also, does the d9200 display 800x600?  I have heard that it does.  opinions please.

Well, in my opinion it is worth it, but I haven't had any trouble with mine.  Kevin at retroblast will be reviewing another multisync soon so if you can hold off a little while we will have an idea if there is a good alternative.  The newer d9200s will do 800x600 though they do not advertise it because it will not do it at 60hz vertical refresh only 54hz according to one of their techs.

I love my 33" D9200 monitor.  Paired with AdvMAME and you have an arcade perfect experience in every sense of the term.   This pairing will allow you to run the exact arcade original resolutions and refresh rates for 99% of the games emulated in MAME.

I have an older D9200 running at 800x600 at 60Hz, and its a great monitor for arcades!  I had a few issues setting it up, but most were because I didn't know what I was doing.  I highly recommend this monitor to anyone.  WG is great with tech support as well if you have problems with yours.

The WG9200 is a great monitor I've had two of them without any major problems.
