movies + frontend ?
« on: August 23, 2004, 05:59:44 pm »
I am still working on my console box.
I am going to use MAMEWHA for almost every thing,
except my movie collection. I am running out of room at my house (honestly I am) about 600 VCR tapes and 200 DVD movies
I am going to turn them into AVI or DVX  and put them into my console box
has anyone seen a front end to help put up a menu.
or can something be made with HTML. like the alphabet at the top of the screen . Like the ROM sites. You click on the letter "A" and my list of movies starting with a pops up , Like animal house , I would click on it and Window media player takes over?

I think you could still use MAMEWAH...

The next release will have next/previous letter jump hotkeys (hotinputs), and also a search function among other navigation improvements.  Assuming Media Player will lauch OK from it (I guess so?), then it should work fine...

I am still building my console pc and the movie conversion will take months if not years. well the vcr tapes will the dvds are faster.
I realy dont care if its window media player any player that will go full screen will do.

"but the nes rom sight was set up that way."

Thou shalt not talk about illegal ROM site postings, for only madness and bans will ensue!  :P
Still in the collecting parts and ideas phase of cabinet building.
