Kinkos wanted a hundred bucks?!? is this right?
« on: August 22, 2004, 04:32:44 pm »
My control panel overlay measures 47" x 22".  It is Rom's exploding image from the arcade art library.  Kinkos gave me prices to have it printed on .........

Vinyl -  $10 per square foot = $80
Photo glossy -  $12 per square foot = $96
Regular Paper -  $8 per square foot = $64

I told them not to do it so i could come back here first and ask you guys.

Am i going about this wrong?  should i go to classicarcadegrafix.com or mamemarquees.com instead?  And also , should i be looking to print this on the Photo Glossy or the vinyl........ this CPO will be covered with plexiglass.

Thanks in advance for any input :)

My local charges $7 per sq ft on Vinyl and $12 on photopaper. It really depends on location.
You might wanna check with mamemarquees.com and see how much they want.

I guess you cant really argue, I mean they charge what they charge. If you want it on photo paper, i guess youll have to pay what they ask, or find somewhere else  :-\

Man Snaake, im confused how you sell control panels at any profit after you take into consideration the printing costs and plexi and controls.

I guess kinkos has got me by the balls on this one, but neither of you guys said what would look better under the plexi..... vinyl or photo glossy.

Thx for the quick replies  ;D

Is your math right?

47" is almost 2 feet, and 22" is about 1.5 feet. So aren't we talking 3 square feet? And therefore $30 for vinyl?

??

47" is one inch shy of 4 feet and the 22" was rounded up to 2'.  That comes to 8 square feet :(

The main thing that has me bummed is how expensive this CPO design is gonna be and it isnt EXACTLY what i want.

I want a cpo that looks like this with ROMS exploding image in the background.  What i really like is Motorfishes icons that go on his spinner and trackball and 4/8way joys, basically the way everything is identified on his cpo, except with the explosion background........

I posted that id be willing to pay but nobody replied :'( :'( :'(

It comes out to 7.18 square feet.  The prices they quoted are too high by almost a square foot.  I have had marquees done at kinkos...they did the math right for me.
