Help Deleting Recovery file in Win XP?

Hi, I need help finding some recovery point files on my c: drive, I have win xp, I havnt done a system point recovery in about 12mths, I just want to delete some of them, not all of them, maybe leave the latest 2-3....

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Well...I'm not sure, off the top of my head, how to delete individual recovery files, but I can tell you something that might be equally useful.

Go to the Control Panel and double-click System (Or press the Windows Button between the CTRL and ALT keys, plus the Pause/Break button).  Click the System Restore tab.  Click the Settings button.  Now you can move the slider to tell Windows how much hard drive space it is allowed to use with System Restore files.  It works on a first in, first out basis, so if you just decrease the amount of size available to System Restore it should automatically ditch the oldest files.

I have a way to delete ALL the files (which is not what you wanted but hear me out).  Go to Control Panel and choose Performance and Maintenance and then System (there are others ways of getting there btw).   Click the system restore tab and click Turn off System Restore (say OK) then turn it back on by unchecking the box.  This will erase all restore files but, as is my understanding, it creates a new system checkpoint daily.  You can also create a manual one.  You really don't need to save 'one or two' if everything is working okay.

System Restore doesn't take up too much space (and won't use more than you tell it to) so don't worry too much about it.

If you do a disk cleanup on your c: drive, click on the more options tab and the bottom button will be remove all but the most recent restore point.
