ArcadeVGA MAMEWah + Other Emus??
« on: August 17, 2004, 02:46:55 pm »
Well I have MAMEWah and MAME working perfectly with my Arcade Monitor, I would liek to run other emulators like ZSnes and Nesticle, to interface them with MAMEWah I assume they have to be the command line version.... but that brings a problem since the ArcadeVGA card resolutions are overrun by DOS Applications am I right? I was told you'd have to find a program to output to an arcade monitor... any suggestions? I originally had ArcadeOS setup with everything WITHOUT my ArcadeVGA, and was thinking I might just use this to run any other emulators...

???

I think you're posting in the wrong forum.  This has been greatly discussed in the software forum.  Check out the links from MAMEWAH's home page.  Lots of info on how to get all these emulators to launch from MAMEWAH.

Forget ArcadeOS.. stick with windows and you'll be fine.  (Plus, Daphne + MAMEWAH only work in Windows!)

The reason I ask is because you cant run games from a menu directly from within MAMEWah unless they are the Command prompt version of the emulators which are DOS.. correct?

No.  Commandline emulators can be Windows based - take Windows commandline MAME for example.  Some other Windows emulators can be run from a commandline, even if they have a built-in GUI, eg Gens.

The problem you *might* have, is running native low resolutions (it depends if the emulator supports that).  Even if not, you can usually run at 640x480 interlaced and it looks pretty good.  As JoeB said, if you have any specific questions try the Software forum - plenty of people should be able to help :)
