Sega Turbo with rare Leslie Collins roms installed.

Thought I would show a couple screenshots of my Turbo, and see if anyone gets the joke in the title.

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Notice the nonsense word up near the timer (which is completely inaccurate, at least it displays wrong, it is counting right, but the time on the screen is unrelated to the actual time).

I am not sure... Is Leslie your girlfriend? or Phils'?  Or do you want your girlfriend to press your butt every time she sees that screen?  Or is the person who is playing supposed to press their girl friends butt?

I guess i don't get it.

Since I have to burn and install 3 new roms anyway, well, I might as well customize them a bit. So I whipped it out (the hex editor that is) and made a few changes.

They work in Mame, and are only text, so they should work on the real hardware.

Losers!

All the funky text in the original screenshots is due to corrupt roms, so my Turbo spells almost everything wrong.

That's AWESOME. I would love to personalize ALL my games. Good work.

BTW, what does the hardware to do that look like?

I actually just did that by opening up the rom files with a hex editor and finding and editing the text inside. Then the new altered roms will be burned to eproms with a standard rom burner. I had to have 3 new roms burned anyway, so I figured, why not?

Oh, I don't have one myself, but I know a local guy who does, and there are a lot of guys online who will burn you a rom or 3 for a few bucks.

They actually don't look all that fancy, they are about the size of a big calculator.

Is there a tutorial for the hex editing somewhere? My wife wants a Ms. Pac cab it would be cool to customize it in MAME with maybe her name as one of the ghosts or something.
Experience is directly proportional to equipment ruined
