has anyone used these before?

I don't have either emulator, but i was curious what they were.

after reading this, I downloaded the transparencies, and ran Kawaks

As an example of what they do, when playing D&D Tower:
The shadow around your character withouth transparencies enabled
is solid black.  With them enabled and the files from the pack
in a "blend" directory, the shadow shows the color of the ground through
it.

I guess just give it a try.
