Just about done my whole cab. My website is up with a TON of pictures (56K don't beware, just don't even GO)
Cab is JUST about done, I just need to get some smoked glass, and attach the bezel a bit better and I'll be done!

WOW!

Looks GREAT!  I got the same speakers/sub in mine..  The way I mounted mine was to take the metal stand and reform it until I can screw it into the frame.  This way my speakers are hangling in the air over the fake grills.

Where did you put the audio remote controler?

I'm putting the audio control on the back of the control panel using velcro. Still need to mount the on/off buttonsomewhere as well.

Hey Sylentwulf, brilliant UAII cab!  I'm building one of these myself and know where you're coming from when you mention the diffculties in mounting the top-side panels (pain in the arse aren't they  The end result is what counts though and it's turned out mint - great work.  CP overlay is wicked too

Thanx I got my price list up as well. I also change the layout of the UAII quite a bit, which you can't really tell, but I made it 3" shallower, and 3 inches shorter. I also made a LOT more sense on my miter cuts (45 degree instead of 2 22.5 degree cuts) and did miter cuts everywhere instead of just 2-3 places.

Frankly, the UA2 directions and measurements are HORRIBLE, missing, wrong, and mis-measured all over the place.

Yeah I know what you mean.  I wouldn't say the plans are totally crap...but a bit more thought could have gone in to certain sections.  I used them more as a generic guide rather than taking it word-for-word.  I ended up doing several things different on my cab too...The main thing being the use of ledgers/battons.  After getting feedback from the helpfuly peeps within this board I decided that just going directly into the edge of MDF would be BAD, I'd use the alternative.  There are places where I've gone into the edge of MDF 'in addition' to the ledgers ..just for extra strength.   Anyhow I ended up re-drafting all the plans into AutoCAD (lol) and then rechecked all measurements about a hundred times just to ensure that everything was correct.

How did you get on with mounting your speakers in that way, I mean where there any difficulties?  I've opted for some Sony XSF692N (6x9s) >>

The speakers mounted REALLY nicely, don't even let light through from the marquee light (I'm gonna shield the light anyways since it's FILLING the back of the cab though)

Yeah, I used ledgers too, and even ditched the whole MDF thing (my CP with MDF weighs about half as much as the whole empty cabinet). The maple finish grade plywood was $18 per sheet more expensive, bringing the entire cabinet $36 more expensive, and about 100 pounds lighter. Plus I didn't have to worry about not priming all sides of the MDF (to keep from humidity and water warping)

Quick update, I finally ordered the 3/16" smoked tempered glass, first place quoted $52, second place quoted $30. I'll let you figure out which I chose
Should be in in 1-2 weeks (kinda long I thought, but oh well)
