I LOVE MY NEW CAR!!
« on: August 11, 2004, 12:09:56 pm »
  So I FINALLY got my new car in about a week and a half ago, and I totally love it. I love it more than my iPod and my arcade cabinet, and that's saying a lot!

  Ironically I went out for chinese food for the first time in about a year and in my fortune cookie was this fortune:

  Romance comes into your life this year in a very unusual way.

Coincidence?

-Steve

heh, thanks! shiny cars definitely do rock.  I'll be putting on my third coat of Zaino this weekend if the weather holds up! :)

  I considered tinted windows.. I really like the "dark" look, especially against the blue.  To be honest, I've never been in a car with tinted windows though, and I'm a little leary about the "it's like you're wearing sunglasses" phenomenon, especially at night...

as long as you dont tint the windows too dark, the car looks good.  I tinted the windows is my Silver Volvo.  And it looks great.

  No, it's not the wanna-be Acura. It's an offical TL!  They look a lot alike though, but the TL has a much bigger engine and the details are a little slicker, IMO.

  What % did you put on there? The legal limit in MA is 35%, though I wonder if that's even too dark.  Ideally it would be like the stuff they use in limos: Dark looking from the outside, but pretty easy to see thorugh from the inside.

  Abyss Blue Pearl, yeah.  It is a super sweet color. I waited almost 3 months for this color combination witht he manual tranny and navigation system (that talks to you!!)!

;D ;D ;D ;D

I see now.  When the sun hit it on your interior shot it looks almost the same as mine but your further away pics look a bit darker than mine.  Cool.  Mine has purple undertones in the pearl too.  Can't wait to see one of these on the road.  I'm a big honda & acura fan.  Although I'm thinking of switching over to a Lexus IS300.  Just something about em...

I love the new TL's. Acura hit a home run with the styling of the new TL and TSX. The previous large Acura's were the most boring looking cars on the road.

I thought it was funny that Acura captured the sharp angular beauty of the last BMW 3 and 5 Series right when BMW turned Acura's inspiration into ugly, bloated atrocities.

Good luck with the new wheels!

You know Acura is Honda, right?
Your car is the Honda Inspire 32v, of course with the Acura styling which looks better.
http://world.honda.com/news/1998/4981015.html

The only Acura I know that kept it's name in the US is the NSX.  Everywhere else in world it is known as the Honda NSX.

BTW, also
Infinity=Nissan
Lexus=Toyota

oh, you really should photoshop the plate.  It would be a wise security decision.

Yep.  I hate those things.  If I get an IS300 Ill get the carbon gray tails.  They're not so bad since the is300 is an altezza but I can't stand them on any other car.  They just look so cheap.  Even the stock ones like on the nissans.

That is my all-time least-favorite avatar in the history of mankind.   How can anyone who would make such a god-awful avatar afford an Acura?

  There are a lot of people that get a little freaky-fried with thier Acuras but  I like to keep any changes more subtle, or as a firend put it: "Make it look like it came that way".

  Those doofy spoilers just look, well, doofy.

  Originally that avatar was made for a joke 404 page, but I thought it was so amusing that I had to recreate it for my avatar. It kinda fits with screaming too, eh? :)

hehe, I love the aftermarket scene.  However there's being classy and then there's just buying any ol' part out of a magazine and slapping it on.

Example of good.  My friend's Ford Focus.  He has alot of aftermarket on it, but it looks good.  he still has the stock spoiler on it though, but it fits.  He picked up the european body kit which I think looks better than the US.  He had his mirrors and side trim painted to match the red body.  This was before Ford started putting matched trim ont he Focus.  Witht he eurpean body kit he pput in the eurpoean turn signals.  He picked up some nice light autocross wheels and suspension.  It looks pretty slick.  I can definately pick his focus out of a crowd but it still doesn't look like he picked out parts from a magazine and slapped them on.
Oh, note to those that read autocross wheels.  he will autocross the car in the future.  He put in a high compression race block and header.  He actually gets about the same amount of power as the turbo charged focus does with a na setup.  I think I recall he was the third person in the country to have that aftermarket engine block.  Of course then he has a Diablo tuned computer then :)

I saw a Honda the other day that was horrible.  Your stereotypical ricer.  Super large wing, super large coffee can exhaust tip.  uhg.

I saw a very nice Acura RSX the other day that had some nice aftermarket parts on it.
