Need help
« on: August 10, 2004, 05:48:24 pm »
Okay I've been using mame for a while but this new version of mame .84 is driving me nuts. I'm using the latest version mamewah for my front end. I just got my mame dvd's in the mail and I just installed everything but now I cant generate a mame game list. I know this is a newb question and I have to generate some .dat file but could someone walk me throught it. My mame rom directory is C:/mame/roms
Thanks. Oh and do I have to manually set each snapshot for each game? I don't really want to do it for over 4000 games, I wish mamewah would just automatically do it.

With the snapshots, I copied across the snaps from Mame32 and pointed Mamewah to those. If you need them, give me a shout. They're not complete, but I think you can generate screenshots by hitting an 'F' key ... I've not got there yet, as I'm still working on getting everything running smoothly first.

Have you pointed Mamewah to your Roms folder in the CFG file?

Hey,
I was using mame .84 because I have a complete set of mame roms, for .84 but i was using .83 for them. So I thought maybe the games would work if I switched. Turns out I just needed to put neogeo.zip in my folder. I only installed  a few of the games and I didn't know I needed this in my folder. Now everything works great. Thanks.
