Mass File Rename possible?
« on: August 07, 2004, 09:18:47 am »
I am using Mamewah and I must say I love this program I have gotten all but one of my screens finished. However my issue has nothing to do with Mamewah I don't think. But here is my issue.

I have all my Games in a folder listed as (roms) and all my screenshots in a folder listed as Screenshots. My problem is that my screenshots all have the (U) after the game name. But my games do not :( ! Do I now have to go to each one and rename it manually or is there some way to mass audit the screenshots to match the games?

Thanks for any help!

I think renaming the roms would be better than renaming the artwork, it looks to me as if the screenshots are named using the good tools format so you need to download goodtools to rename your roms.

Yeah, rename the roms then refresh your list, I'm not sure though if you have made some favourite lists, I'm sure someone here with more experience on this than me would be able to answer this better. I only used goodtools for the first time this week. I had only ever used the mame screen in mamewah and decided to get my gameboy and snes screens happening, so I downloaded the box scans and screen shots from stuzza's screenshot archive and noticed that no pictures came up, I then downloaded goodsnes and whatever the gameboy one is and renamed the roms and now the pictures come up nicely.  ;D

This page will help you to do it. http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/gtguide.htm

Good luck.
