CraigsList coincidence
« on: August 07, 2004, 12:29:48 am »
I thought I'd take a look at the various CraigsList communitys around the country (I've only ever visited the Boston one for obvious reasons). This was the first ad I looked at.

Anything about this Ad strike you as odd?

It's a textual ad?

I'll bite...whats odd?

The part about the TV blacking out every now and then?  Or is there something in the image I'm just not seeing?

Look at the link to the picture, the link is http://www.arcadecontrols.org/images/tv/panasonic-880F.JPG

And well, I'm pretty sure this messageboard's url starts with http://www.arcadecontrols.org/

Perhaps this person figured out a way to get free image hosting.

The weird thing is (thanks for pointing it out btw!) that's *my* tv and a picture of my study that the TV is in. I'm not selling my TV. I don't know who the craigslist person is or why they thought my tv picture was the one they needed to use. I've replaced the picture, check it out now...

Strange stuff on the net indeed....

He's not selling; he's giving it away.  Guess he thought he'd find a picture of the TV on the 'net and use it to demonstrate what the TV looks like.
