WG U3100 Troubleshooting
« on: August 06, 2004, 05:00:04 pm »
I have a new U3100 that I am testing.  I have not built the PC that will be driving it, but have attempted to test the monitor using my main PC along with a laptop.

On the PC, it looked OK in the boot up sequence, but once Windows came up, the picture was distorted.   The lowest resolution I could set was 800x600.

On the laptop, it was always distorted.  I was trying 640x480 here.

I am not finding anything regarding if there are settings, drivers, etc. I should changing or installing.  Any ideas on what I should try here?

PC Booting Up:

PC At Login Screen

Laptop Booting up (same issue once it gets to windows)

I am sure this is something simple I am doing wrong... I'm just not finding what it is.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

The highest non-interlaced resolution for the u3100 is 800 x 600.  It will do 1024x768 interlaced if your video drivers allow you to specify interlaced.  I wouldn't bother with that if I were you though, I had a u3100 and at 1024x768 it looks like crap.  It is decent at 800x600 though.

Also it is picky about its vertical sync.  For example for 800x600 it must be ~ 54 HZ.  that is probably why you are having trouble on the laptop.
