mame 78 or 79 wanted
« on: August 05, 2004, 11:01:38 pm »
A few months back .some one started a web page with the older versions of mame. I had it , and sent mame 56 final to him. I have lost his link, and also lost my mame 78. I have the 5 dvd disk set and a dvd up date disk to 79.
I only want the mame for windows and has a built in GUI. I thought these were called mame 32. But I found that one, and it was the comand line version. I have tried many times to do the comand line mames and never have got a game to run.
thanks

Anyone know of any similar sites that are hosting older versions of mame? I tried joymonkeys but I couldnt seem to find a valid link on the page. Likely doing an update, etc..

I'm trying to find an older version suitable to use with a clunker (500Mhz).

Thanks,

-Goz

i just went thru this myself..
go to the mame site and pick any of the mame version links for download.
right click on it and copy the shortcut

simply replace the version number with the version you want..
theyre all there on the server ,just not listed ;)

example

http://mirrors.xmission.com/mame/main/mame0XX.zip

xx being your version number..include a XXb if necessary if the version you seek is a b ver.
