Sorting Roms
« on: August 04, 2004, 02:05:13 pm »
How can I sort through a full rom set to remove games that wont be played on my cabinet?

I want to include only horizontal joystick games that will run on a p133.

Any tools to do this?

Probably easier to hand pick the (classic) games that will run on that machine.  Many (most?) of them will be vertical tho...

You could use a FE to filter horizontal and joystick games, but you'd probably still have to manually remove the games which don't run properly.

Start with hmove from http://mame.joymonkey.com/ (or vmove).  That should leave you with only horizontal games.
Next you could download and set-up emuloader (www.mameworld.net/emuloader) and show available games, sort by control type and highlight each non-joystick game and press delete.
From the remaining list, you would have to manually select the games that you PC can't handle and delete them.
