Is that a sequel to "Musicians against Tree" or perhaps "Musicians standing in shrubs"? Neither of those have anything on "Musicians pruning hedges", which is my personal favorite.

...unless they are musicains against that kick-butt band of the early '90s... Bush rox yer sox. Are they prohabitionists with poor spelling? It could be rock against Busch (which tastes like cat pee, and I could possibly see why musicians would be against it).

Don't tell me download the videos. I can't be arsed.

No thanks. If I were looking for advice or opinion, a musician would be the last one on the list to ask just under "3 year old" and "labotomy patient".

Why?  Which one of those are you, the 3 year old, the lobotomy patient, or the musician? ;)
You’re always in control of your behavior. Sometimes you just control yourself
in ways that you later wish you hadn’t

Ahh you people crack me up.  :D

The first video really irritating the h-e-double hockey sticks out of me.  You can call me old but I still say screaming incoherently can hardly be called talent (our parents were saying the thing about our music back in the 70s and 80's - hate to imagine things 20 years from now).

I couldn't get the gist of when the woman in the second video was trying to say.  And I got distracted by a funny commercial on TV.  Sigh, I still don't have an opinion....

The third video - something about Jesus and [male body part] repeated ad naseum by some twanggy fellow.  Very educational, thanks.

I personally don't care much for Bush but I don't think any of these clips are going to appeal to hard-core Republicans and/or Bush supporters to change their opinion.  And how come only musicians get to be against Bush?   Yeah, well I'm bored.

It wasn't meant to be an insult. I simply don't need to get opinion from someone who strums a guitar for a living. I prefer to read my news, not get it from Saturday Night Live or the Daily Show. I prefer to get my opinion from my own thoughts and read the editorials of publications I trust and enjoy.

Flashy visuals and music is meant to elicit emotion, not thought. I reject the opinion of anyone who uses those means to persuade. It is rhetoric at its worst.

Ahh, APFelon - you just touched upon why I began loathing MTV sometime around the early 90s.  Rock the vote?  Why don't we just leave the voting to those who know why they're voting for someone, not because a candidate answers stoned teenagers' questions about what kind of underwear he prefers on music television (not a knock against Clinton - just saying is all).

But I disagree with part of your second point.  Emotion and thought could sometimes go hand and hand like Peanut Butter and Banannas.  Listen to Bob Dylan or perhaps some Stevie Wonder.  And going out on a limb here: Harry Chapin.  However you are correct about blatant persuation, the best song writers don't try to lead the listener by the hand into thinking the way they happen to think.

How about "Everybody else against Kerry"

I like that better.
