Mamewah starting sound
« on: July 24, 2004, 12:15:49 pm »
Does anyone know a way, other than a third party app of getting a specific wav or MP3 file to play when a program starts?  I would like to have "Shall we play a game" from wargames play when you start Mamewah and "Chicken, fight like a robot" from Berserk play when you end it.

Simply replace the "Intro.wav" in the "layouts" folder with your chosen sample (make sure it's named "Intro" as well).

...and exit.wav for the exit sound.  Read Layouts.txt for a more complete explanation...

I feel like an idiot, because I looked around for this and now can't believe I didn't see it right away!  Thanks for the responses though!

BTW, I also have HAL9000 saying "Thank you for an enjoyable game" when a game exits.  I don't know how long it will be until this gets just annoying, but for now I like it.  If anyone wants the Berserk wav file, let me know.

How do you get a specific sound to play when you launch a game from Mamewah?  So far, I've only been able to have "background arcade sounds" playing while in MW.  I'd like to play the "fire shot" sound from Galaga whenever I launch a game.  I have the .wav file, I just need to know what to do with it.

Thanks!

You just need to name & place it correctly - read Layouts.txt (comes with MW), it should explain all :)
