Because I'm always one who likes to know if people like apples more then they like oranges , here are the specs for our test machine.

I put it on there because I was curious on how many people went barebones basic and just used Mame32 as their FE.   Basically how many people are adverse to investing "a good amount of time" into a Front End.  I use Mame32 at the moment, but it's because I don't have a cab yet and I'm just playing on my computer with a PS2 controller.

And remember, it's not a poll for what you use, but what you'd use in this config.

I use Emuloader (www.mameworld.net/emuloader) with a desktop PC and eventually a desktop control panel.

I might use something else in a full-up cab, but haven't tried the others enough to decide which one I would go with.

I voted for other because you left off Game Launcher for some reason...

Simple space restrictions and I wanted to give nods to some of the FE developers who replied to my other post.  Game Launcher and EmuLoader were the 2 others that I wanted to put on.  I also wanted to split Emulaxian/fe-3darcade, but space prevented that.  Personally I love the emersion factor of 3dArcade, but prefer MAMEWah over Emulaxian.

I voted for mine (big suprise)  but the reason I did is because this particular rig is literally the prototype system I make sure that dk runs the best on.  

Take that into account and the fact that I just added skin specifc support and imho the best "nes" skin out there and it's perfectly suited.  Dk will run on all vga monitors and is specifically tweaked to work best on tvs, it would be the perfect fit.

Again, interesting stuff that I never knew.  This would actually influence my decision on which FE to run since I know I'll be using a TV for the first year or two.

I didn't realise that, but interesting that I also used a TV for testing MAMEWAH originally, thus the standard layout (640x480)and colours I used show up nicely on TV's.

i use mame32 and will continue to because even though it is a tad plain its the simplest way to get going. im hopeless with anything more complicated than doudle-clicking an icon   . on my cab of course its in the startup so it opens straight away. i didnt even realise you can have different front ends for mame32!! i wouldnt be able to use it anyway like i say so in any configuration itd be plain ol mame32. thats MY vote up there by the way. hehe...
