What can I do to speed things up?
« on: July 17, 2004, 02:40:11 am »
I have a slow 350 mhz pc with mame80 with MameWah.

My problem is every game but a few of the simpliest games run slow. I know this isn't the optimum processor speed to have, but is there anything I can do until I upgrade?

Should I use an older version of mame? If I do, will the newer roms work? If they won't how can I fix them? I tried romcenter (I think) and couldn't figure out how to fix the roms so I gave up.

Please Help!!!

Use an older versions, and make your ROMs compliant with ClrMAME.

I'd forget about Windows and use DOS, ArcadeOS and Mame .066 or earlier with that system. I've got that software setup on a Pentium II 266 and it plays all the games I'd ever want perfectly.
