Mamewah problem
« on: July 13, 2004, 03:59:54 pm »
Does anyone else have a problem with very long lists of roms in mamewah? I have thousands of nes roms, they all show up i think but when i try to switch emulators it freezes and dies.

Anyone know if there is a known bug in mamewah for this?

Thanks

Minwah

Try leaving it for *ages*...it probably hasn't died but it just taking a looong time.

The only solution is to filter your lists down as small as you can, and only flick between the smaller lists  :-\

This only happens with Win98, and I will try to fix it when I re-write the core...

Does it not do this with win 2000 cos i could install that. Also how long do you think before you "re-write the core" is it worth me waiting. (Not trying to rush you or anything) It would take me hours to filter the lists, i have all the goodnes nes roms and snes etc etc. Maybe i should just instal win 2000

Thanks

Yes it should work fine in Win2k...but I don't want to be responsible for you having to install a new OS!

To be honest it will be a while until I get to that re-write...I am re-writing a ton of other stuff atm, but I have a feeling I will need a rest after that...

Installing win 2k aint too bad cos i have two hdd, one for os on for all the arcade stuff so its only a matter of redoing that. Ill do that, its the easiest way round. Thanks
